1. Maddie processes the thoughts and feelings she harbors over the traumatic events in her past in chapter 3. What does her best friend Rachel tell her about spiritual warfare? When she has a revealing perspective change, how does she respond? How are we called to respond when we face overwhelming thoughts and feelings?

2. When we go into battle, who goes before us?

3. Rachel shares a revelation with Maddie in chapter 4 regarding preparation. How does God prepare us for our calling?

4. In chapter 10, what does Grammy say we have to find, no matter the circumstances we face? How do we go about looking, and what do we do with this little nugget of encouragement?

5. What does God reveal to Maddie when she finds what Grammy encouraged her to look for?

6. What is Paga, according to chapter 11, and what does it mean? How does God use it in intercession? What should be our response?

7. What is David encouraged to do, in chapter 12, when he was worried about the threat to their town?

8. In chapter 13, what is Maddie reminded of when she falls for a lie?

9. Pastor Ron challenges the church, in chapter 18, with this: “When you stand before Jesus and the glory of the Lord shines all around, purifying everything in his path, what will be left?” How might you answer his question?

11. In chapter 19, Maddie’s eyes are opened to the glory all around her. What perspective shift did she experience, and how does God do this for us today?

14. What does Momma Roseline share in chapter 22 that reveals the battle we all face? What should be our response?

16. Sonya shares the differences between good fruit and bad fruit. What is fruit, and how is it obtained? What are we called to receive and pour out?

17. What contrast is reflected in chapter 25 between the PKO and Wild Rock/The WTL? How does this mirror the contrast we face in the world? What is real and what is counterfeit?

18. Read Daniel 3. What did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego face when they took a stand for God? In Chapter 27, what did Pastor Chris say that they did as a result? Could you do the same?

19. What does Maddie learn about worship in Chapter 31? What does worship look like for you, and how can you take a similar stance?

20. What does Tom tell David that Maddie and her friends will face in the days to come? What weapons do they need to face this threat? Where do these weapons come from?

21. What scripture does Grammy leave to Maddie in the epilogue? I encourage you to write this on a notecard and meditate on it. May the Lord do the same for you as he has for Maddie and her friends.
