The Journey of a Scribe

In 2012, I experienced an outpouring of words. Within twenty-four hours, I had written a song. In six months, I had written twenty-five. This miracle led to a blog, a newsletter, and nine books, all written to bring HOPE to a generation of young women searching.

One day, a dear friend introduced me to Habakkuk 2:1-3. My calling had become clear: I was to scribe for my King.

My WHY

In the middle of that pivot, God called me to lead a small group of high school girls. I'll be honest: going back to high school was the last thing I wanted. But the Lord had a plan, and it was bigger than the one I could see.

I thought I was there to pour out. I showed up focused on what He might do through me. What I didn't expect was what He was doing in me.

Week after week, I watched Him meet young women right where they were: hurting, searching, guarded, hungry for hope. I watched Him heal what had been wounded and make whole what had been broken. And somewhere along the way, I realized the same hands that were mending them were mending me.

Then He called me deeper, into intercession. Night after night, I brought these girls before Him:

Father God, You know the pain these girls are experiencing: the anxiety, the fear, the worry over an uncertain future. Lord, please show me how to help them see You in the midst of their circumstance. Help me to teach them to pray. Help me to point them to You.

I started out praying for them. But as I prayed, He filled me with the Father's love until it overflowed, pouring through me and back out to them. That's where I learned the truth I carry with me now: HOPE is only a prayer away.

So here I am, writing to you.

I want to tell stories that show what discipleship looks like. Not the tidy, happily-ever-after kind, but the real and raw ones. Stories that leave you whispering the one question that changes everything:

"I understand what she's going through. Jesus, can you heal me, too?"
