Hey, Ya'll! Welcome to Fun Fact Friday. My name is Eve and this is my week in writing. Grab your favorite beverage, and let's chat about gratitude.

Today's Fun Fact: Being grateful helps people connect to something larger than themselves.

Today's fun fact is credited to Harvard Health and psychologists Dr. Robert Emmons of the University of California and Dr. Michael McCullough from the University of Miami. Their research highlights the benefits of gratitude in both our well-being and relationships.

The Bible has a great deal to say about gratitude. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Gratitude is God's will.

In my writing journey, I have many people for whom I am grateful.Ā

  • First and foremost, I am grateful to my God, who has prepared and poured into me all I need to step into His will for my life.Ā

  • Secondly, I am so grateful to my husband for encouraging me to step into something larger than myself.Ā

  • To myĀ Flourish girls, thank youĀ for listening to my crazy ideas and encouraging me to keep my eyes on Jesus as I stepped out in faith. I am so grateful for your steadfast love.

  • To my readers,Ā I am grateful to YOU for reading every newsletter and helping me when I need feedback. Thank you for believing in me.

  • And I am so very grateful to my Writing Tribeā€”Watch and Write.

I want to spotlight my writing tribe today.Ā

A year ago, the Lord stirred in each tribe member a desire to step into something bigger than ourselves. Each person was called to something they did not have the capacity to complete alone. Then He called us to Himself and, through Him, to each other.

The name "Watch and Write" comes from two words taken from an honest dialogue between God and Habbakuk in Habbakuk 2: "I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what He will say to me and what answer I am to give to this complaint." God then called Habbakuk to a greater purpose: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it."

Watch and Write - Scribes for God's Kingdom.

On December 9th, 2023, we all accepted a personal invitation to join other God-anointed scribes for productivity, accountability, and community.

In ten days, we celebrate all that God has done in and through each of us.

When we first sat around the table, our hearts' desires were spoken with a bit of uncertainty. The things God was calling us to seemed so much bigger than ourselvesā€”and the truth is, they were.

Ā

Perhaps God calls us to something bigger, so we must depend on Him for the outcome.

A story in the Bible reminds me of a moment such as this. God promised Abraham that He would give His people the land of Canaan. 430 years later, Joshua led God's people into the land they were promised. Just prior to their entry, twelve spies were sent into the land; only two came out filled with faith.

But that was all God needed.

On December 9, God started something that only He could finish, and a year later, we are giving Him all the praise.

My friend Amanda Hayhurst published Pray for Him, currently #1 in Christian Prayer on Amazon. She has sold over 10,000 copies. Numerous women and menĀ have been encouraged and inspired by the beautiful words the Lord placed on her heart.

Donna Dibble published the audiobook for Escape Hatch and the paperback bookĀ Pocket Full of Christmas after God downloaded the manuscript in only two hours! (Only God!)

Laura Shaw has successfully launched her life coaching business and a newĀ Healing Journeys with Jesus Podcast.

Camille Burch has been working tirelessly to launch Crazy Praise Club! What is Crazy Praise Club, you ask? Collaboration, God's way!Ā Stay tuned; I promise you will love it!

Carmen Drew published the coloring book Love Her Again. This beautiful coloring book encourages you to see yourself through God's eyes, and all proceeds will pay for her mission trip to Brazil in December.

And my dear friend, Lauren, has stepped out in faith and launched Coffee and Quills Editing. Now, I have to tell you that Lauren is my developmental editor. She is amazing. As much as I dread sharing this amazing editor, she is not mine but the Lord's. Lauren and I have known each other for almost fifteen years. She was my first co-leader. Watching her courageously step into what the Lord placed on her heart is a great honor. I know that God will bless many through the work of her heart and hands. I am grateful to be even a tiny part of her story.

God is faithful, and as we look back on the year, we recognize that it is only by His sovereignty that we can do anything. By His grace, we had the strength and courage to step out in faith. And it is through each other that we have been encouraged and sharpened.

Iron truly sharpens iron, and I am so grateful for this.

Do you have a tribe? I would love to hear about them!Ā Hit reply and share with me what you are grateful for. If you don't, I encourage you to pray for eyes to see those God has placed in your life to sharpen you and thenĀ reach out and ask them toĀ come alongside you. Don't be afraid of the hard things. The hard things are what lead us to Him.

A Prayer for you:

Father God, we are so grateful for YOU. Thank You for the honor of being invited to Your table and all for Your glory.

Lord, we thank You for the body of Christā€”for the community that encourages and sharpens one another. Lord, as we sit in gratefulness for all You have accomplished in and through us, we pray for wisdom and courage as we enter a new year. May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for usā€”yes, establish the work of our hands. In Jesus' Name, we pray, amen.
