Revealed Hope - Letter from the Author
I've waited ten long years to tell this story. I know, I know there's a lot of feels right now.
As Jesus told Maddie, this is only the beginning! I am working on some cool short stories that highlight the adventures of Maddie and her fam as they followed Jesus. If you would like to hear all about them, join me for my quarterly Fun Fact Friday Newsletter. And if you would like to learn how to live revealed, like Maddie, join me for Living Revealed, where we gather with Jesus to love, disciple, and stand in the gap for those who are in our path.
Okay, Friend, now it's time for a chat. Join me by the river. Remember the brook in book one? A slow-flowing brook where the reflections sparkle like little green diamonds shining below the gentle waves. Take off your shoes and allow your feet to dangle in the cool, refreshing water. Breathe in deeply of the cool, fresh air, and let's have a chat.
Maddie's story is my story, your story. It's the story of every person who must figure out whether he/she is all in. And while the details may look different, those who know Jesus WILL have the honor of meeting Him face to face. THAT is what I want to leave you with today, my friend.
Maddie's story is fiction. The backstory is also fiction. The biblical and Hebraic references have been thoroughly researched. If you would like to read my beliefs and how I wrote the final chapter and epilogue of Revealed Hope, you can find this information here. If you would like a detailed list of scriptures used, you can find it here.
Friend, now that I've shared my heart with you, I would like to leave you with a question. Do you know Jesus? He knows you. His living water pours out for you. And He wants you to know that He has a lifetime, an eternity of living water for you. John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in him shall NOT PERISH but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." Do you remember Barney? He shared a pivotal message with Maddie in chapter seven: "We don't die; we just change locations." If you follow Jesus, you know that when we die, we will join Jesus. While it is heart-wrenching to consider death, either for ourselves or for our loved ones, the reality is that this is not our home. Heaven is our home, and Jesus is waiting for us. BUT we will not return to Him until God's purposes prevail, whether personally or corporately.
So guess what? We are on mission!
Your mission, if you choose to accept it:
1- Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
2- Follow Jesus.
3- Love your neighbor as yourself.
4- Go and make disciples.
5- Keep your lamp filled and your wick trimmed, your heart ready for service. (The Holy Spirit will fill you to overflowing. Just remember to be a willing and open vessel ready for His pour.)
That's it! If you do not know Jesus, may I recommend that today you open your heart to Him and call on His Name. Romans 10:13 says: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Call out to Jesus and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Then find a Bible-believing Church that will point you to Him. Holy Spirit will lead you the rest of the way. You, my Friend, were made for such a time as this!
I love you, Friend. You have no idea how very grateful I am to you for walking this journey with me. I pray that you will be forever blessed by King Jesus and through the Revealed Book Series.
