A Birthday Blessing for my Son

On a Monday, you stole my heart for the very first time.

I would have the honor of your calling me mom forever as mine.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.”

A reflection of His great Love I was blessed in your eyes from the great Elohim.

On a Monday, you went to Kindergarten and I have to admit;

My heart leaped as my baby stood ready to commit.

Life would never be the same as you stepped into God’s great plan.

I would learn to let go, deep down I knew you were in the Father's Hand.

A Tuesday would find you graduating from elementary school.

Tough, grown up and shall I say a little bit cool.

The smile of your tender years seemed to have disappeared.

But this mama saw the sparkle in your eye which she held dear.

It was a Friday when we had the honor to see you march,

In a band of great talent we watched you take charge.

This season would serve to teach you some things,

Discipline, Commitment and leadership among these.

It was a Sunday that God blessed me in His own special way,

In Church, we watched as He covered you in grace.

A blessed day to be certain, unlike any other,

Singing praises that your name was sealed in His Book forever.

As we celebrate your birthday and prepare for graduation,

I want you to know my heart is full of inspiration.

The life you have lived is just the beginning,

Of God’s great plan to lead you in the way everlasting.

Happy Birthday sweetie! I Love you!

Father, I thank You for the beautiful opportunity to be a parent. I pray over my son Lord that You will guide and direct him in the way he should go. I pray that You will give Him strength and wisdom to face the opportunities You place in his life with courage and grace. Thank You for creating him as the Mighty Warrior he is! I pray Lord that in all things that You will bless the work of his hands and his heart. And I pray that he will always know how very much You love him and how valuable he is to You. Thank You Father for allowing me to bring Your child up in this world and for the opportunity to behold Your blessings in his life.

In Jesus Name

AMEN

Your Thankful Daughter
